Florence Nightingale.

Today in class1 we have been learning all about Florence Nightingale. We have been looking at very old images about Florence and writing down words and sentences. We have also been making lamps just like the one Florence Nightingale would have used. Take a look at what we have been doing today!

We pulled a giant broccoli plant out of the garden and used it to learn about the roots, stem and leaves.

Farming Friday – eat

We weren’t sure we would like vegetable curry but everyone did! We really loved the garlic and coriander naan bread too.

Plant stall preparation – money

Icicle group have been sorting out the special offers by knocking down the prices to half and quarter. Reception are busy today buying and selling in the indoor and outdoor garden centres.

Minibeast hunt

Today we were searching for bugs! We thought about where they like to live and then went and looked in dark, cold and damp places. We found 8 massive, slimy slugs under a log. We enjoyed using adjective to describe them after learning about adjectives in literacy.

Settings

To help us use our senses and imaginations to describe a setting we went on a magic carpet ride to the setting of Jack and the Beanstalk. We saw enormous doors on the castle, massive, squishy chairs and a cooker bigger than our classroom!
