An explorer came to school…

Today when we got to school there was something strange in the mud kitchen! Someone had left a tent with a bag of clues. We looked in the bag and found some binoculars, a very old map and a diary. We read the diary and it told us that the stranger was from a very long time ago. He was a cartographer and explorer back in the 1700s.
In 1755 he joined the navy where his skills as a cartographer were noticed.
During the 7 years war he learned to survey and assisted with the charting of the St. Lawrence River.
In 1769 he circumnavigated New Zealand on the Endeavour.
