To help us use our senses and imaginations to describe a setting we went on a magic carpet ride to the setting of Jack and the Beanstalk. We saw enormous doors on the castle, massive, squishy chairs and a cooker bigger than our classroom!
We compared our outdoor learning environment with the outdoors in Handa’ Surprise. We thought the illustrator had done a lovely job of setting the scene. We looked at other African pictures and thought of adjectives to describe what we could see.
We noticed that the story ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ had lots of different settings. We talked about the different settings and made then made them in mixed teams. Can you guess which setting each of the pictures is?
